Happy Monday, everyone! How are we all? I hope well! I am starting to think that weekends are not long enough! Two days is not enough to recoup from the week before! As promised, I am back this week and I actually have something to review! Without further ado, here comes my review of Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 is (obviously) the sequel to Destiny. Players assume the role of a Guardian, who protect Earth’s Last City from invading alien races. The Cabal, who are a warmongering race, have taken over the Last City and all Guardians are stripped of their abilities (their light). The player character sets out on a journey to find their light and take back the Last City.
Destiny 2 is a first person shooter, with the player going into third person when using their ultimate power. These powers are based around void, fire and air. I currently use fire, because that’s the first warlock power.
I really like Destiny 2. It’s a really fun game to play with others. Of course, I’ve been playing it with @sebonthesilvermountain because I like to spend time with him and really struggle to play videogames by myself if they’re meant to be multiplayer.
Both Seb and I agree that the gun play is very smooth. The weapons feel distinct, even if some of them aren’t very good. I am not a fan of the grenade launchers. I find questing fun, and I am interested in the story. I want to know more about the characters, and I’m excited to be hearing what my characters voice is when I get to the DLC.
The game does have some downfalls though. For instance, I have an issue with the game being a bit short. I’ve not been playing long, but I know for a fact that I am nearly 50% of the way through the main campaign. I’m glad I have some DLC, but Bungie expecting people to research the original game or something. Seb has an issue with the game being lacking, especially for PC players. It expects players to know all about the original Destiny. As a PC player, neither of us know about it as the original game never came to PC. We are missing out on some of the game.
All in all, I would say someone give this game a go! I don’t know if it’s still for free, but it’s worth picking up to play.
What do you think about Destiny 2? Did you play the original before the second one? Would you play them if you’ve never played them before? Leave a comment down below!
